I am intrigued at how something so easy is quite difficult. I feel like I am back in art school learning some of the basics. Halfway through this painting I realized that there were TWO shadows, not one. It looked a bit better with one shadow, but I am committed to trying to paint what I see.
Using a very limited palette, Mars Black and Titanium White were two of the four colors used. The other two were Cerulean Blue Deep and Quinacridone Magenta - all Open Golden Acrylics. Generally, I do not like to use black or white to get my values, but I chickened out tonight.
This painting has a glare for which I apologize.
Another challenge will be to learn how to shoot my own work -
not at night under artificial light.
Next you'll hear me saying I need a new camera and light box.
Eggs are hard to paint! What a challenge. Carol Marine even said today that unbroken eggs are very hard to paint. Cheers!
