Let's Crack Open A New Year!

I have no idea what started my fascination with eggs, but I think it was actually seeing baby chicks poke their way out of eggs at a permanent exhibit at The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago.  I was five when we started going on rainy week-ends and as we got older my brothers, Chris and I, with Matthew tagging along, would sneak over to the museum as often as we could manage on our way home from school.  The farm exhibit and the Paul Bunyan off-kilter house were my favorite.  Even today when I look up through a large oak I feel like I am looking at the perfect tree that sat in the middle of the museum surrounded by a light periwinkle blue sky in the red farm house yard.

So for that reason, among others I am sure, I have decided to join Leslie Seata and her friends in the 30 Day-30 Paintings Challenge.  Taking her advice I decided to pick one subject and it is going to be.......EGGS!

Of course, I am already creating my Feltagge Flegg Series (felted egg containers with legs) and I am drawing and painting all sorts of other things, but this challenge will be an exciting way to see what happens when I stick to one subject.  I may paint a simple egg every day, or get wild - who knows!  So join me on my journey of cracking open a new avenue of creative growth!
