Years ago, one evening I was painting a guinea hen feather. No reason - it was there and I needed inspiration. Of everything I have ever painted or drawn, that was the first time I felt moved by someone other than myself while painting. It was a small painting, and is now faded, but it brought back to me the pure joy I felt when I am able let loose and just paint or draw.
Now, in between my landscapes and canine portraits, I love to paint and draw feathers and eggs. They loosen me up, help me get free and to return to the place where the artist deep within me does the work. The non-judgmental artist. The one who just enjoys the process and the color and the feeling of working on paper, with water, pastel, pencil and even my fingers.
Occasionally, I will post some of those paintings here for sale. Some are framed.
I hope you find the magic in them I get from doing them.
